Drama Challenge, Day 23

Day 23: Drama where the child portion of the story was better than the adult one.

Well, if the child portion was better then it’s almost certainly one that I dropped. I wouldn’t have stuck out for the whole shebang if I thought it couldn’t measure up to the young’uns. Sure enough, I didn’t stick around in this drama long enough to lose patience with the characters–I realized I loved the younger thems too much and would always miss them more than the current couple. And so the unfortunate winner is…

The Moon Embracing the Sun. I know! You’ve got to be thinking, “how could she do that?! It has Kim Soo Hyun in it! The man is gorgeous and fabulous and wonderful! How could you drop his drama?” Well, it’s simple. The odds were really stacked against it as a Saeguk about getting a man to sleep with his wife… and the kids were just. so. cute. When I realized they had grown up I couldn’t handle it–and so I once again realized I just can’t watch a drama for a specific actor. It’s all up to the parts and story themselves. I’ll probably try it again at some point (y’know, give Saeguks a fair shot) but it’ll take me a period of mourning to move past that cute cute kiddie couple.

  1. Yap. this is the drama where I loved the child actors so much. I didn’t want them to grow up. Once, the actors changed, there was this disconnect. It wasn’t the same. I couldn’t love it as much. I honestly believe, the child actors were the reason it became so popular. They gave it that awesome start it needed.
